“Blue Christmas” will be Friday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension at Fork, 183 Fork-Bixby Road, Advance.
This is the first time offering an evening service for people experiencing grief that is expressed or quietly restrained this Advent season.
Did someone you love die in the past year? It could be grief for someone who died 20 years ago.
“Dealing with the heavy part of life during the cheery winter wonderland can feel lonely and at odds with the pending celebration. Join us for an evening of reflection, acceptance, and holding out for healing and hope.”
Special music will be offered by Benita Brandon Finney and her son, Bradon.
Please wear a mask for this service.
Blue Christmas will be available to watch on Facebook at www.facebook.com\ascension-fork.org as a live stream. It will be posted to the website later that evening www.ascension-fork.org. Due to the nature of the service which is dimly lit and makes use of candles, be aware that the streaming camera may have trouble.
