Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

By Shirley Thorne

It was a beautiful sunny “Resurrection Sunday” last weekend. Special Easter services were well attended at local churches.  As photos show, Society Baptist and Clarksbury Methodist folks rejoiced as they remembered the resurrection of Jesus Christ during sunrise services. Also, Clarksbury children presented the Easter program “Amazing Grace” during Sunday worship.

Sunday, April 24, is “Baptist Men’s Day” for Southern Baptist churches across the state. The Baptist Men will lead the 11 a.m. worship service at Society Baptist. The program will include a brief history and mission of Baptist Men, projects the past year, and future endeavors. Church members invite everyone to this special service.

Upcoming events include “Friends and Family Day” with games for all ages plus hamburger/hotdog/ice cream meal from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, May 1 at Clarksbury Methodist.

Our community sends happy-birthday wishes to Mildred Benfield, who will be 91 Saturday, April 23.  The past year Mrs. Mildred has had some problems with diabetes, which required hospitalization, but continues to enjoy the comfort of her home with the help of her children nearby. Mrs. Mildred, all of us in County Line wish you a great birthday this Saturday and a healthier new year of life.

Rayford “Tink” McDaniel continues to rest at home with palliative care. Carol Brazel remains in rehab at Accordius Rehabilitation Center of Winston-Salem.  Betty Lou Richardson, Tommie Ross, and Alice Waugh remain in rehab at Davie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Join us in prayer for the Lord’s divine healing and blessings upon Tink, Carol, Betty Lou, Tommie, Alice, and others who are having health problems. Remember in prayer Denny and Frances Cartner; her brother Randy Benge died Monday of last week at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Also, remember in prayer the family of Carrie Mae Johnson Eckles, who died Monday of last week just 6 weeks before her 100th birthday;  she was a sister of the late Louise James and an aunt of Rayvon James. Continue to pray for Ukraine and its citizens as they are mercilessly killed by Russia. Pray for those affected by covid-19, and pray that everyone will get fully vaccinated.
