Sheriff still looking for suspect who ran last week

Sheriff’s deputies are still looking for the suspect who fled in a vehicle on Sept. 12, abandoning it not far from Cornatzer Elementary School, causing a temporary lockdown. He then fled on foot.

At approximately 2:27 p.m., deputies attempted to stop a stolen white Toyota Rav4 on the 2900 block of US 601 S., Mocksville. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Greensboro on Sept. 1.

The driver fled from deputies and failed to stop for blue lights and siren, reported Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brian Jacobs. Deputies pursued the suspect to the Lake Louise and Hickory Hill area of Davie County. The vehicle was located at the end of Lakeview Road and the driver fled on foot.

With the help from the community, the suspect was identified as Anthony Quinn Strickland, white male, 50, last known address of Greensboro. There are active warrants for Strickland for injury to real property, felony flee/ elude arrest with motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
