Martin “Marty” Van Keeton, 57, of Advance, died unexpectedly at his home on Nov. 4, 2019.

He was born June 11, 1962 in Forsyth County, a son to Martin Emory Keeton and Nora Jean Hayes Keeton. He graduated from Davie High School with the class of 1980. He was an animal lover and worked as a vet tech at Village Way Vet Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith, was a hunter and outdoorsman and as a young man achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts.

Survivors: his parents, Martin and Nora Jean Keeton of Advance; sisters, Amanda and Tammy Keeton of Advance; niece, Michael Kara Keeton; great-nephew, Mason Gray Penland; great-niece, Addison Emery Penland; and his best buddy and dog, Red.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 at 1 a.m., also at the Davie Chapel. Burial will follow at Cornatzer Baptist Church Cemetery.
