Richard Louis ‘Dick’ Beuter

Mr. Richard “Dick” Louis Beuter, 89, of Mocksville, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born on Feb. 23, 1935 in Trumbull County, Ohio to the late Paul F. and Helen Lou Miller Beuter.

Mr. Beuter was a Purple Heart recipient, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved golf, had a passionate career in car racing, and was a member of Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Mr. Beuter will be remembered as an American hero, loving husband, father, and friend to many.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Eric Konrad Beuter.

Survivors include: his wife of 49 years, Lynn Hopping Beuter of the home; 2 children, Ingrid Wilson Beuter of Fairfax, Va. and Mark Richard Beuter (Stephanie Doby) of Clemmons; and 3 grandchildren, Lyla Alana Beuter, Michael Beuter of Tucson, Ariz., Alicia Syverson of Las Vegas, Nev.

A memorial graveside was conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2 at Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Debbie Hainesworth for the love and care shown to Richard in his final days.
