Mrs. Shirley Rebecca James Seats, 80, of US Hwy. 158, Mocksville, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

She was born on April 26, 1943 in Davie County to the late Alec Carl and Emily Spry James.

Shirley was a member of Turrentine Baptist Church and retired as an LPN. She enjoyed listening to preaching on the radio and watching butterflies and doves. She was a very loving wife, mother, and sister and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her daughter, Shirley Renee Seats; and siblings, Kathleen James, Enos Monroe James, Juanita Lagle, E.M. James, Charles James, Harold James, Jesse James and Gene James.

Survivors include: her husband of 52 years, Clyde Franklin Seats Jr.; her son, Chris Seats of Mocksville; a brother, Carol James of Mocksville; several nieces and nephews; and several sisters-in-law.

A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 28 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Carlton and Dr. Darrell Cox officiating. Interment followed in Turrentine Baptist Church Cemetery. The family receive dfriends one hour prior to the service.
