Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders is sharing the successful completion of a pipe organ, crafted for the University of St. Thomas in the heart of St. Paul, Minn.

This musical instrument is destined to find its permanent home in the recently unveiled chapel at St. John Vianney Seminary, with the installation ceremony scheduled for December.

Despite its modest configuration, featuring a total of 14 stops across two manual keyboards, this organ promises to have a profound impact on the Seminary, the University, and the wider Minneapolis community, the builders said. The team at Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders has spared no effort to ensure that every note emanating from this instrument delivers a unique and enchanting musical experience.

To celebrate this significant musical milestone, Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders invites organ music enthusiasts to an open house at the company’s workshop on Oct. 27 starting at 6 p.m. This event will be a unique opportunity to witness the talents of Dr. Jacob Benda, the University’s Director of Music, Liturgy & Sacred Arts, and Organ Area Professor, who will grace the occasion with a performance on the new organ, revealing its rich and harmonious sonority.

The mini-concert will be intertwined with a guided tour of Lewtak Pipe Organ Builders’ workshop, providing attendees with a glimpse into the artistry and craftsmanship behind this creation.
