Due to sickness, there will be no jam sessions at the Meatlocker for the next few weeks.  Farmington Community Center will open this Thursday.

New Union’s final Hotdog Saturday for 2023 will be Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. There will also be baked goods and RADA cutlery for sale.  The church is at Sheffield and County Line roads.

New Union thanks everyone for the support of the spaghetti supper, 50/50 and silent auction.  Some of the proceeds went to Finley Gunter and family. Your love and support is greatlyappreciated.

Myrtle Stroud and Sharon McDaniel led the Children’s Choir at Ijames Baptist on Sunday, Oct. 15. Many visitors, including grandparents, attended.  They sang “Do Lord” and “Praise Him When the Sun Goes Down”, adding motions showing praise to God at all times. Thanks to Pam Branham for the article and photos.

Ijames will hold the annual chicken stew Saturday at beginning at 5 p.m.  Chicken stew, desserts, treat bags for the kids, and hayrides will be provided.

The fall chili or soup cookout will be held this Saturday at Liberty Wesleyan at 5 p.m. There will also be hotdogs, desserts, s’mores, singing around a bonfire, and fellowship, and candy for the children.  On Nov. 12, there will be Thankfulness meal following the 11 a.m. service, honoring Pastor Neil Taylor and family for Pastor Appreciation Month.

Chester Reeves, owner of Chester’s Quilts, will have a sale of his quilts and throws on Nov. 4 from 10 a.m.2 p.m.  He has a new selection of Christmas throws and quilts, pieced and quilted by him. The sale is at 247 Turkeyfoot Road.  Contact him at 336-492-5837.    

NuHiWay played to a full house on Friday evening at MawMaw’s Restaurant.  Music is each Friday evening from 6-8.
