When a Davie sheriff’s deputy was patrolling US 601 South, they noticed something suspicious in the parking lot at Lakewood Motel.

That deputy spoke with an individual in the parking lot, Billy Setzer of Spring Lake. He had outstanding warrants for his arrest from Floriday for armed burglary with assault and battery on a pregnant woman.

Deputies also discovered the vehicle Setzer was driving had been reported stolen from Fayetteville. Inside of that vehicle, they found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphnernalia.

Setzer was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with the outstanding warrants from Florida, and is being held without privilege of bond prior to an initial court hearing.
