Two Davie men were arrested last week, caught trying to steal catalytic converters from vehicles parked behind the Brock center in Mocksville.
Davie Sheriff’s deputies were called at 10:30 p.m. after a 911 caller said someone was going under YVEDDI vans with a flashlight.
Deputies found: Nathan Ray Vernon, 32, of Midway St., Cooleemee; and Samuel Jason Smith, 47, of Edgewood Circle, Mocksville.
Each was charged with possession of methamphetamine, larceny of motor vehicle parts, simple possession of Schedule IV controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were taken into custody in lieu of $20,000 bonds each, pending an Aug. 3 first appearance hearing in Davie District Court.
Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brian Jacobs said the two were stealing catalytic converters, and is asking for help if anyone knows has information about the case. Call 226-751-6238 or email sheriff@dcsonc.com.
