Rita Miller Hogan, 64, Hilton Head Island, S.C., went home to be with Jesus on Sept. 9, 2022.

She was the daughter of Herman and Christine Carter Miller of Advance. She attended Davie High and graduated from Appalachian State University. She owned Rita Hogan Accounting Services on Hilton Head.

She is survived by: her 2 sons, Tommy and Adam Hogan; daughter-in-law, Tiana (Tommy); sister, Tina and Gary Gardner of California; niece and nephew, Julie and Dylan Gardner of California; aunt, Cleo Bertini; and many loving cousins who she loved dearly. Her father preceded her in death.

She was loved by so many people including her family, friends and clients. She was always helping someone and was such a giving person. She will be greatly missed. Her warmth and compassion will always be remembered and cherished by everyone who knew her.

She loved her Lord and grew up in Bethlehem Methodist Church and later baptized in the Baptist Church in S.C.

Funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Church, Redland Road, Advance, on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. Visitation at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the: American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
