Mrs. Doris Ann Nail Rich, 81, of Nail Lane, Mocksville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1940 in Davie County to the late Robah Woodrow and Mamie Etta Howard Nail.
Mrs. Rich was a lifelong member of Cornatzer United Methodist Church and sang in the Cornatzer Trio for years. She was known for her baking, enjoyed spending time with her family, and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Rufus “Bud” Ashburn Rich Jr.; and a sister, Judy Howard.
Survivors include: 2 children, Frederick Rich (Kimberly) of Apex and Karen Messer (Jimmy) of Mocksville; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany Johnson (Kevin), Traci McLawhorn (Chris), Christina Whitaker (Shane) and Matthew Messer; 8 great-grandchildren; a brother, James “Jimmy” Woodrow Nail (Linda Smith); several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Frankie Reavis.
A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 in Cornatzer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Shane Young officiating.
