Trudy Smith McDaniel, 74, of Mocksville, died on Oct. 16, 2021 from Piney Grove Nursing & Rehab in Forsyth County.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1947 in Forsyth County, daughter of the late Elbert Helsabeck Smith and Pearl (Spillman) Smith. She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Floyd “Red” McDaniel; step-daughter, Crystal McDaniel; and a step-son, Tony Dean Williams.
She graduated from Davie County Schools. She worked as a textile weaver for Hanes Fabric until her retirement. She loved to do crafts and sing in church choirs.
Survivors: a son, Matt Williams (Shannon Hill) of Mocksville; a daughter, Stacy McDaniel of Florida; step-sons, Andy Williams of Mocksville, Bubba Essex of Lexington, Randy McDaniel, Roger McDaniel, Terry McDaniel, and Mark McDaniel, all of Mocksville; brothers, Eldridge Smith and Gary Smith, both of Advance; a sister, Gail Smith Gregory of Burlington; grandchildren, Waylen Parker Williams, Austin James Williams, Carson McDaniel, Nicholas Williams, Ben Wallington; and a plethera of nieces, nephews and friend.
A graveside will be held at a later date with friends and family.
