On Sept. 25, Davie High School students and others walked around the school track as part of the Buddy Walk 2021 to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem.
Some 43 people registered for the Davie walk, raising $1,100.
Because of COVID, each team chose their own place and time for the walk instead of the usual big walk with multiple teams at West Forsyth.
It was Maddie Kulis’ second year as chair of the Davie event. The Davie team had the most walkers.
“I’m so proud of Davie County and everyone who participated,” she said.
