Brenda Angell “Kay” Shoaf, 66, of Salisbury, died on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born in Rowan County on April 11, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Julia Ruth Saulsbury and Wiley Angell.

She was a cafeteria worker. She had a green thumb and loved to work in her garden. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she worked in the children’s ministry.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Allen.

Survivors: her sons, Robert Shoaf and Jeff Shoaf (Gwynne), all of Salisbury; brother, Jim Angell of Mocksville; sisters, Nancy Smith and Christine Thompson, both of Mocksville; grandson, Barrett Levi Shoaf.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury with Pastor Darryl Worley officiating.
