Dorothy Ashley “Dody” Roig, 49, of Lexington died on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1972 in Lakeland, Fla. to the late Sylvia Annette Myers and Kenneth Layne Ashley.

She is most remembered as the best Nana, mother and friend to those around her. She was full of adventure. She loved spending time with family and friends jamming and just enjoying life. She was wild and free spirited. Her grandkids were her little best friends.

She was also proceeded in death by: her son, Brandon Lee Ashley; and her partner, Gerri Roig.

Survivors: her daughter, Penny Ashley and partner Tad Lee, and 4 grandchildren Jayden, Tristan, Neveah and Vanessa; daughter, Whitney Upright and husband Jonathan Upright of Kannapolis, and granddaughter Hadley Upright; daughter, Ericka Glass and husband Darrius Glass of Fayetteville and grandson Isaiah Glass; her sisters, Tina Ashley Craig (Stanley), Penny Ashley; her brothers, Danny Ashley (Margie) and Kenneth Ashley; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was celebrated on Sept. 11 at her sister’s home in Advance.  She was cremated per her request and spread at the beach, her favorite place.
