Three War Eagles on all-state football team

Three War Eagles were honored when HighSchoolOT released its all-state football team.

Junior running back Tate Carney, who committed to Wake Forest on June 2, was named to the first team offense.

Senior receiver Jack Reynolds, a Charlotte recruit, was named to the third team offense.

And senior safety Caleb Bowling, a Drake recruit, made honorable mention on defense.

A total of 11 players from the Central Piedmont Conference were selected. The others were senior offensive lineman Jared Wilson of West Forsyth (first team offense), junior linebacker Albert Redd of Glenn (first team defense), junior defensive back Micah Crowell of East Forsyth (first team defense), junior kicker/punter Andrew Conrad of East Forsyth (first team special teams), sophomore linebacker R.J. Brown of East Forsyth (second team defense), senior flex Bryson Canty of Reagan (third team offense), senior tight end Andrew Jones of Reagan (third team offense) and senior receiver Antonio Yates of Reynolds (honorable mention offense).

Canty and Jones are Columbia and Duke recruits, respectively.
