Instruments used by band students in Davie County Schools aren’t cheap.
Neither is the upkeep.
On average, each of the three middle school bands and the high school band spend $5,000 each to send instruments elsewhere for cleaning and maintenance.
DC Bands is hoping to change that. The group is raising money to buy an ultrasonic washer that could be used by all bands. The cost: just over $15,000.
Money can be donated through PayPal, or to the Davie High Band Boosters (memo instrument cleaner), 180 War Eagle Way, Mocksville. Any donations over the cost of the equipment will be split equally.
