Davie’s boys golf team struggled at Salem Glen, but responded with a fantastic round at Pudding Ridge.
At Salem Glen on March 22, West Forsyth shot 23-over 167 to Davie’s 175 and Glenn’s 203. Davie’s scores came from Ben McGuire (6-over 42), Sean Coates (43), Colby Moore (44), Keller Frakes (46) and Cooper Drum (46).
The War Eagles played better three days later at one of their home courses, Pudding Ridge. Behind Moore’s 2-over 37, Davie (12-over 152) blew away Forsyth Home Educators (183) and Summit (189).
No fewer than four War Eagles broke 40, including McGuire (38), Frakes (38) and Coates (39).
Girls Team
West Forsyth beat the Davie girls by a single stroke at Salem Glen on March 22.
The Titans seized the first and fourth spots with a 41 and 43 to finish at 21-over 129. Davie took the second and third spots with Kyleigh Harnsberger’s 6-over 42 and Caroline Bliss’ 43 as Davie finished at 130. Glenn shot 175.
Five War Eagles placed in the top 10. Annika McDaniel was tied for fifth at 45, Abby Howerton was ninth at 56 and Krystal Davis was 10th at 57.
