Mrs. Peggy Delores Horne Stanley, 89, of Angell Road, Mocksville, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 at the home of her son.

She was born on Sept. 22, 1931 in Iredell County to the late Sam and Hazel Cook Horne.

Mrs. Stanley was proud to be saved and enjoyed studying the Bible and gospel music. She loved get-togethers and spending time with family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Calvin Coolidge Stanley; a son, James Calvin Stanley; and a daughter-in-law, Freda Stanley.

Survivors: a son, Doug Stanley of Mocksville; 2 grandchildren, Jason Stanley (Myra) and Brandi Stanley; 3 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Stanley, Colton Stanley and Corbin Stanley; several brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Greg McEwen officiating.
