Mocksville town board members last week said it will take from 6-12 months to pick a new town manager. The current manager, Matt Settlemyer, retired last week.
The board is working with the N.C. League of Municipalities to find an interim manager, and offered the following guidelines:
• the interim manager would work from 6-12 months;
• 32-40 hours per week;
• negotiated contract;
• board members will look at past resumes in picking a new manager, as well as get quotes from the league and another agency on costs for assisting in the manager search.
For the interim manager, the league will provide the board with candidates to interview one at a time until an agreement is reached.
