Third COVID-related death reported here
A third death from COVID-19 has been reported in Davie County, as the number of residents infected with the virus continues to increase.
Eighteen new cases were reported from June 1-8, bringing the total in the county since reporting began to 122.
Of those 122 cases: three have died; 59 met requirements to be released from isolation; and 60 remain sick, with four of those in the hospital as of Monday.
Health Director Suzanne Wright encourages residents to continue practice social distancing, wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer often, and limit interactions with others, especially in large groups.
