As Davie County Schools work to make sure children are still learning during the pandemic, leaders recognize the social aspect of school, as well.

The children aren’t seeing their classmates or teachers. And they miss them.

Practicing social distancing, elementary teachers in Davie schools took to the streets. With police escorts, they traveled through neighborhoods waving to students waiting outside their homes. Students and teachers held signs and posters stating how much they missed each other.
