Lena “Nanny” Everhardt died on Dec. 12, 2019.

She read the Bible daily, had faith, trust and believed in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She had a loving and caring heart and loved her family.  She was a member of the VFW.Auxiliary in Cooleemee.

She was born to the late Luke and Hester Cook Ball.

She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Joseph W. Everhardt; second husband, A.G. Parker; and son, Joseph W. Everhardt Jr.

Survivors: a daughter, Marcie Bean (Kenneth); a son, Donnie Everhardt (Tanis); a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Everhardt (Joe); grandchildren, Andy Everhardt (Tracie), Beth LaPorte (Scott), Bradlee Bean, Jill Atkins (James), Michael Everhardt (Liza); and 9 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Liberty Methodist Church, with the Rev. Darren Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
