Two Republicans filed for the office of Davie County Register of Deeds on Monday as filing began.

Kelly Cozart Funderburk of Park Avenue and Ray Charles Tutterow of Greenhill Road, both Mocksville, seek the office being vacated by retiring Brent Shoaf.

Also as filing opened Monday, Mark Jones of Fox Run Drive, Mocksville, filed for re-election to the Davie County Board of Commissioners; Paul Drechsler of S. Salisbury St., Mocksville, filed for re-election to the Davie County Board of Education; Julia Craven Howard of Magnolia Avenue, Mocksville, filed for re-election to the N.C. House; and Joyce Riley Krawiec of Kernersville filed for re-election to the N.C. Senate. All are Republicans.

Potential candidates have until noon on Dec. 20 to file.

Local voters will elect three county commissioners and four members to the board of education.
