ADVANCE – Hungry?

Try the Blessing Box, a new Little Free Pantry off NC 801 adjacent to the Advance Fire Department.

The box was built by Aiden Treier for his Eagle Scout project.
A dedication ceremony was held on Sunday.

The idea is simple, built to be like Little Free Libraries. If you need food, take what you need. If you have some to spare, leave it in the box.

Sponsored by churches in the Advance community, the pantry was started to help with food insecurity that some families experience, and to engage the community in helping one another. A flyer promoting the pantry read: “It is for neighbors helping neighbors. It is free and easy access to food to solve short-term and immediate food insecurity issues. In other words, it is a safety net.

Only non-perishable food items should be included.
