Enjoy a full day of free fun for the family during the annual Oaks Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12 in historic downtown Mocksville.

From 10 a.m.-5 p.m., dozens of vendors will feature unique handcrafted and gift items. There will be food vendors and free kids’ activities. Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater will feature free live music from 12:30-8:30 p.m.

Crafts, food, and the kids’ area will be set up along the square on Main Street and run down Depot Street leading to Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater.

Find that one-of-a-kind piece of pottery, stained glass, or unique item made from reclaimed wood or jumpstart fall decorating with pumpkins, flowers and handcrafted wreaths and decorations.

If you have a hand-crafted talent and passion, download the 2019 Oaks Festival Vendor Application today. Four slots are still available.

Kids will enjoy the inflatables, as well as decorating a pumpkin assisted by the Junior Civitans. Captain Jim Magic will do magic as he walks about town on stilts.

Road Dawgs will be selling hotdogs and fries, cheesesteaks and more. Burgers, chicken tenders, polish sausages and drinks will be available. For dessert or a snack, enjoy shaved ice from Southern Ice or grab a funnel cake, pretzels, popcorn, and some lemonade.

The free music starts at 12:30 and continues until 8:30 p.m. at Junker’s Mill. Bring your own seating. Coolers are not allowed.  Water, wine and beer will be for sale at Junker’s Mill, and food vendors will be at the top of the hill on Depot Street.

The Mystery Hillbillies kick off the fun with rousing rockabilly at 12:30; The King Bees will continue the fun with Blues and American Roots-style music at 2:15; the Triad’s oldest boy band, The Pop Guns, will make you dance and giggle at 4:15 and get on your feet for Trial By Fire: A Journey Tribute Band headlines at 6:15.
