Free concerts are scheduled Saturday night inn Mocksville and Bermuda Run.

Poundcake takes center stage from 7-10 p.m. in the quad in downtown Mocksville. This is the final performance in this year’s free Concerts on the Square series sponsored by the Town of Mocksville.

Poundcake plays rock songs unadorned, by three dudes with three instruments and three voices who strive to honor the original recordings and recreate them in the trio setting. Poundcake is a hometown straight-up rock and roll band capturing the classic rock of the 70s and 80s including ACDC, Tom Petty and Aerosmith.

Bermuda Run will be alive with the sounds of beach music as Special Occasion Band wraps up the “Sounds on the Square” concert series at 7 p.m. at the gazebo near Town Hall in the Kinderton Business Park. This is the final of five free summer concerts co-sponsored by the town and the Davie County Arts Council.

Special Occasion Band is known throughout the Carolinas for its versatility and depth of talent. This Winston-Salem-based band has been together since the 80s offering Carolinas’ beach music, Top 40, oldies, and country. Their beach repertoire includes favorites like “I Love Beach Music,” “Carolina Girls,” “60 Minute Man,” and “Brown-eyed Girl.”

There is plenty of space, so bring lawn chairs, a picnic and a cooler. A dance floor will be available.

The concert’s rain date is Sunday, Sept. 29.

The Kinderton Business Park Gazebo and Green is at 120 Kinderton Boulevard, off US 158.
