Patricia Gayle “Susie” Smith, 68, of Advance, lost her battle with lymphoma on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019 at her home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1950 in Union County, S.C., a daughter to the late J.D. Smith and Lillian Ferol Oglitree Smith. She was also preceded in death by: her step-mother, Maggie Smith Shook; and brothers John, Robert “Hoppy” and Terry Smith.

She was a joyful soul. She loved music, singing and being around people, especially family. She attended Victory Baptist Church and Camp Manna.

Survivors: brothers, James “Fisher” Smith (Melanie) and David Smith, both of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; caregivers and nieces, Jenny Rosier (Tad) and Melissa Smith; and other family members including Tammy Lagle (Gene), Clay Smith (Bobbi Jo), Misty Smith, Jim Smith (Wendy), James Robert Smith and Jacob Smith and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 4-5 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Cooleemee. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m., also at Victory Baptist, with the Rev. Shelby Harbor and Stan Riddle officiating. Burial will be at Gilean Baptist Church in Jonesville, S.C.
