Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It sounds like something out of a movie. Caleb and Cody Martin are both in the NBA. Both twins are with the Charlotte Hornets. The Spectrum Center in Charlotte is 62 miles from Mocksville.

Does it get any better than that for the Mocksville natives?

The 6-foot-6 Martins signed contracts with the Hornets on July 31. Shams Charania, who covers the NBA for The Athletic and Stadium, tweeted that Cody received a three-year deal, likely for a little over $1 million per season with a non-guaranteed final year. He tweeted that Caleb got a partially guaranteed deal, which could mean a one-year deal or a tryout contract.

As a senior at Nevada, Cody averaged 12.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He was picked 36th overall in June’s NBA Draft. In the Summer League in Las Vegas, he averaged 8.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

As a senior at Nevada, Caleb averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists. He went undrafted. He was on Charlotte’s Summer League roster but did not suit up because of an injury. He signed last week as a free agent.
