Herman Odell Snider, 90, of Woodleaf, died on Aug. 2, 2019 in Salisbury while under the care of the Glenn Kiser Hospice Home.

He was born Dec. 5, 1928 in Rowan, a son to the late John Anderson Snider and Della Mae Shoaf Snider. He was also preceded in death by: his daughter, Theresa Kay Snider; his grandson, Michael Shane Beck; his brothers, Tom, Reid, Adam and David; and sisters, Fannie and Mary.

He attended Rowan County schools. He worked as a cloth inspector at Delta Thread and Cooleemee Mills and retired in 1998. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He loved watching classic TV shows and cars.

Survivors: sons, Roger Snider (Frieda), and Mitchell Snider (Shirley); daughters, Kathy Wilkins (Hugh) and Phyllis Padgett (John); 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren (expecting 1 more); and 6 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m.-noon at the Rowan Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A graveside service will be held following at noon, with the Rev. Steven Burrow officiating.
