Michael Dale “Mike” Taylor Sr. (Mike), 57, of Linwood, died on July 20, 2019 at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1961 in Davie County, a son to the late Roy Odell Taylor Sr. and Mary Lee Williams Taylor. He graduated from Davie High School. He married Karen G. Dildine.

He was also preceded in death by: his wife; his brother, Roy Odell Taylor Jr.; and sister, Cathy Diane Taylor.

He spent his career working with the public and was of the Baptist faith. He was a great Daddy and Pawpaw and enjoyed spending time with his family. His life revolved around his family, especially his kids and grandkids.

Survivors: his son, Michael Dale Taylor Jr. (Myca) of Lexington; daughters, Brandi Phillips (Brian) of Yadkinville, and Spencer Hendrix (Brandon) of Lexington; brother, Thomas Lee Taylor of Lexington; and 5 grandchildren, Matthew Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Mikayela Taylor, Mikah Phillips and Brynlee Phillips.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24 from 6-8 p.m. at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25 at 11 a.m. at the Davie Chapel, with Sam Harvey officiating. Burial will be at the Union Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
