Mobile Rec Days taking play to Davie communities

Since 1985, America has celebrated July as Park and Recreation Month.  A program of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the goal is to raise awareness of the impact parks and recreation has on communities across the U.S.

This July, Davie County Government and Davie County Recreation and Parks (DCRP) is “Game On” for Park and Recreation Month.

All month, the DCRP Team is hitting the road and bringing fun to neighborhood communities with Mobile Rec Days. Scheduled stops at at partnering community centers will take place Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. where games, activities, and all things play will be provided at no charge by the DCRP Team.

The first Mobile Rec Day was held on July 10 at Sheffield Calahaln Recreation Center.

Additional Mobile Rec Days scheduled are:

• July 17 at Cooleemee Recreation Area, 131 Church St., Cooleemee;

• July 24 at Farmington Community Center, 1723 Farmington Road, Mocksville; and

• July 31 at Jericho-Hardison Recreation Area, 775 Greenhill Road, Mocksville.
