Mrs. Emily Barnhardt Ford, 83, of Clemmons died on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Trellis Supportive Care.

She was born in rural Davie County to the late Olin Lewis and Edna Carter Barnhardt on Aug. 7, 1935. She was a graduate of Shady Grove High School and Draughn’s Business College. She retired from Motors Insurance Corp. after 30 years. She married George Spencer “Bill” Ford in 1955.

She was also preceded by: her husband, George S. Ford in 2005; 2 brothers, Derry Barnhardt and Gray Barnhardt.

Survivors: 2 sons, George Samuel Ford and Gregg Spencer Ford (Angela); 3 grandchildren, Joseph (Cindy), Christopher and Austin Ford; sisters, Helen B. Everhart of Clemmons, Ann Barnhardt of Advance and Freda B. Schlaman and husband Eugene of Charlotte; brother, George Barnhardt of Advance; sister-in-law, Laura Jane Barnhardt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel with her niece, the Rev. Emily Schlaman Larsen of St. Andrews Presbyterian and the Rev. Paula Northrup of Clemmons United Methodist Church officiating. Family will receive friends 2-3:45 p.m.
