On Saturday, June 1 a breakfast event was held at First Baptist Church of Mocksville recognizing all Eagle Scouts (Boy Scouts) and Gold Award Recipients (Girl Scouts) in Davie County.

In conjunction with the Rotary Club of Mocksville, this was a event organized by Davie Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops.

In addition to a breakfast prepared by Boy Scout Troop 732, each Eagle or Gold Scout in attendance received a certificate and commemorative coin from the International Fellowship of Scouting Rotarians.

Eagle Scout Edwin Owens was on hand representing Rotary Club of Mocksville and Gold recipient, the Rev. Tiffany Seaford, was the keynote speaker.

The committee was pleased with the turnout and hopes that it will continue grow.

Proceeds from the breakfast will go towards the newly formed “Scouting…Davie County Style” Scholarship, which will be managed by the Davie Community Foundation. Students who earn their Eagle Scout rank or Gold Award will be eligible for this scholarship.  If interested in making a donation to this scholarship, contact the Davie County Community Foundation or visit https://www.daviefoundation.org/.
