Dorothy Carol Hauser Breedlove, 85, died on Saturday,
June 15, 2019, at Forsyth Medical Center.
A celebration of her life was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at New Friendship Baptist Church. Burial
followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 2:30-4:00 p.m. prior to the service in
the church fellowship hall.
She was born on July 3, 1933, in Davie County to Reid and Lillian Sheek Hauser. She was
valedictorian of Farmington High School’s Class of 1951 and graduated from Gardner Webb College
where she met the love of her life, Paul Davis Breedlove. They were married for almost 59 years before
his death in 2013.
She loved family first and relished cooking and baking, along with celebrating family birthdays and
holidays together. She worked for 40 years at Consultant Engineering Services as secretary-treasurer
and part owner. Her garden and flowers brought her joy. In her later years, she loved keeping up
with family and friends on Facebook.
She was an active member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She and Paul were also founding
members of Unity Baptist Church, and she studied and traveled with friends at Faith Missionary Alliance.
She was a lifelong learner and a diligent student of the Bible, sharing her faith as a Sunday School
teacher for 52 years and Bible study leader for over 35 years.
Mrs. Breedlove was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister Frances Hauser
Surviving: her son, Paul Davis Breedlove Jr. (Debbie) of Advance; daughter, Alisa Carol Breedlove
Arslan (Mark) of Cary; grandchildren, Forrest Reid Breedlove (Elizabeth), Amber Breedlove Smith
(David), Ronald Bradford Arslan (Nicole), Michael Thomas Arslan, Anna Carol Arslan; great-
grandchildren, Thomas, Andrew, and Madison Arslan; her brother, Dr. John
Hauser of Cary; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
