Mr. Ronald Clero Swaim, 74, of Richie Road, Mocksville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Yadkin Nursing Center in Yadkinville.

He was born Aug. 23, 1944  in Surry County to Helen Victoria Hayes Swaim and the late Clero Claude Swaim. Mr. Swaim was an active member of Eatons Baptist Church and North Davie Ruritan Club and volunteered at William R. Davie VFD.  He enjoyed piddling, yard work and mowing. Mr. Swaim loved being outdoors, bluegrass music and a good joke.

He was also preceded in death by: his grandparents, Claude and Bertha Swaim; and a brother-in-law, Garvey Dameron.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann Myers Swaim of the home; 2 children, Chad Swaim (Vickie) of Harmony and Ronda Smith (Michael) of Lewisville; 2 siblings, Claudia Dameron and Ricky Swain (Sandra); and 5 grandchildren, Jordan Fightmaster, Tori Nelson, Sydney Nelson, Morgan Lail and Kayden Smith.

A funeral service was conducted at noon Friday, May 31 at Eatons Baptist Church with Dr. David Gilbreath officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
