Mrs. Janie Sue Naylor Cozart, 90, of Wilkesboro Street, Mocksville, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at her home.
She was born May 7, 1929, in Davie County to the late John Floyd and Sadie Belle Benson Naylor. Mrs. Cozart was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, Mocksville where she had been a Sunday school teacher for many years. She retired from Davie County Schools as a teacher’s assistant. Mrs. Cozart loved working in her flower gardens and volunteered at A Storehouse For Jesus.
She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Samuel Leo Cozart Sr.; and a brother, Benny Naylor.
Survivors: 2 sons, Sam Cozart Jr. (Dawn) of Statesville and Bill Cozart (Joy) of Mocksville; 2 brothers, Jack Naylor (Marcle) and Johnny Naylor, and a sister-in-law, Nan Naylor, all of Mocksville; 6 grandchildren, Willie Cozart (Nicole), Jennifer Mahaffey (Josh), Lauren Cozart, Brent Cozart (Halie), Caroline Cozart and Jacob Cozart (Lauren); and 6 great-grandchildren, Dylan Mahaffey, Patrick Mahaffey, Bryceson Cozart, Maggie Mahaffey, Addie Cozart, Ty Cozart and Brooks Cozart.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25 at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Tiffany Seaford, Jacob Lambert, Paul Hill and Dr. Scott Eanes officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 24 at the church.
