Ina Mae Driver Howell, 86, of Mocksville, died on May 19, 2019 in Winston-Salem.

She was born Aug. 18, 1932 in Davie County, a daughter to the late Jesse Travis Driver and Mary Luna Lowery Driver. She graduated from Courtney High School with the class of 1950. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married James Calvin “JC” Howell.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, JC, and a brother, Travis Driver.

She worked as a clothing pattern maker. She was a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and watching sports, especially college basketball.

Survivors: her sons, Michael Howell (Celinda) of Raleigh and Mark Howell (Renee) of Mocksville; brothers, Eugene Driver (Arlene) of Love Valley and Steve Driver (Judy) of Mt. Airy; sister, Lois Felts of Mocksville; and granddaughter, Stephanie Howell of Mocksville.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 6-8 p.m. at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Mocksville, with the Rev. Darren Crotts and Pastor James T. “Chip” Webb Jr. officiating.
