Angie Marie Smith Paynter, 41, of Mooresville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Born Oct. 7, 1977 in Forsyth County, she was a daughter of Bobby Dale Smith Sr. of Kannapolis, and the late Wanda Ann Cope Smith.  She was also preceded in death by her step-brother, Rick Gouldman.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, especially to her son, Sebastian, daughter Kyleigh Paynter, the lights of her life, and her dog, Scrappy.

Also surviving: her husband, Gary Lee Paynter; her son, Sebastian Fisher; daughter, Kyleigh Paynter; step-mom, Donnie F. Smith; brother, Bobby Smith Jr. (Marti); sister, Pam Wooten (Shannon); step-sisters, Frieda Peck (Charlie) and Donna Lewis; nieces and nephews, Chisten Lawson (Bruce), Lauren Akins (David), Kyler Staley, Braden Staley, Zack Staley, Maranda Hayes (Bradley), Meredith Saunders (Joe), Brittney Saunders (Jared), Michael Potts (Joshua), Sabrina Adcock (Kevin), Shannon Freeman and Felicia Shumpert (Tommy); and great-nieces and nephews.

A gathering of friends to remember and celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, May 15 from 11 a.m.-noon at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
