Mr. Leon Daniel Ladd, 86, of Eden, formerly of US 601 N., Mocksville, died Friday, April 12, 2019, at UNC Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

He was born Aug. 25, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Buxton and Beulah Mahaffey Ladd. He was a graduate of Mocksville High School, Class of 1950, and had graduated from several navigation schools. Mr. Ladd was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from U.S. Merchant Marines after 39 years. Mr. Ladd was retired from National Maritime Union and Masters Mates and Pilots.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 16 at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Mocksville.
