A man found dead in a burning home on Saturday morning has led to an arson investigation.

Kenneth Ray Davis, 45, was found dead in his home on NC 801 North. The body was sent for an autopsy.

Davie Sheriff J.D. Hartman said officers were initially called to a report of vandalism at a neighbor’s residence, where windows had been broken.

When officers arrived, they found the residence next door on fire, but couldn’t get in because of the flames.

The body was found after the fire was extinguished.

The SBI was called to assist, including a canine and arson investigators.
