Mrs. Frances Irene Shuler Rentz, 92, of Rentz Lane, Mocksville,  died Monday, April 1, 2019 at her home.

Mrs. Rentz was born July 1, 1926 in Davie County to the late David Washington and Florence Harriet Atwood Shuler. She was a lifelong member of Fork Baptist Church where she kept the nursery for many years. Mrs. Rentz had been employed with Dixie Furniture and Heritage Furniture. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her chicken ‘n’ dumplings and light rolls. Mrs. Rentz loved children, especially her great-grandbabies. She also enjoyed working with flowers.

She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Franklin Kenneth Rentz; 4 sisters, Grace Flynt, Hazel Hartman, Thelma Trent and Eva Myers; and 3 brothers, David, Dwight and Lester Shuler.

Survivors: 3 children, Wayne Rentz of the home, Patricia Moffitt (George) and Barry Rentz, all of Mocksville; 2 grandchildren, Rodney Cassidy (Branden) and Natasha Gonzalez (Jesus); 3 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Gavin, Isabel and another on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 4 at Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Garrett and Shelby Harbour officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
