David Eugene Simmons, 53, of Lexington, died on March 29, 2019 in Lexington Medical Center.

He was born in Rowan County, son of the late Quilmer Simmons and Sadie Turner.  He attended Davie County High School. He never worked because of health disabilities. His hobbies were playing cards, listening to music, and watching TV.  For the past year, he had made his home in Davison County.

Survivors: his mother, Sadie Clark of Advance; a son, Devin Johnson of Winston-Salem; 2 brothers, Perry Simmons and Tony Clark; 2 sisters, Terri Simmons and Roberta Clark; other relatives and friends.
