Mrs. Daisy Myers Ridenhour, 96, of Gastonia, formerly of Cooleemee, died on Saturday, March 30, 2019.

She was born Sept. 28, 1922 in Davie County to the late Jessie Oscar and Jane Broadway Myers. She was a faithful member of Liberty United Methodist Church. She was raised on a farm and then worked many years at Erwin Mills in Cooleemee and furniture factories in Lexington and Mocksville. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, as well as a hardworking house wife, cotton mill worker and furniture factory worker. She enjoyed gardening and coastal fall fishing with her husband, Jack. After Jack’s passing she was a member of the “Singing Seniors” and enjoyed trips to local nursing homes to entertain and encourage in song.  She also enjoyed bus trips with close friends to points of interest.  She was loved by all her friends and relatives.

She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Jack Ridenhour; and brothers, Walter Myers, William Myers, Hobert Myers and Vestal Myers.

Survivors: her son, Monte Ridenhour and wife Carol; grandchildren, Brad Ridenhour and Chris Ridenhour; and great-grandchildren, Brooke Ridenhour and Jude Ridenhour.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 6 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Rainey officiating.  Burial will follow in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
