Mr. George Russell Smith, 69, of US 64 E., Advance, died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1949 in Davie County to Evelyn Lucille Taylor Smith and the late Russell James Smith. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved restoring classic cars.

He was also preceded in death by: his wife, Mildred Lucille Lookabill Smith; 2 brothers, Yoman Smith and Carmen Smith; and a sister-in-law, Libby Smith.

Survivors: his mother of Mocksville; 3 siblings, Lola Smith Hellard (Johnnie) of Mocksville, Randy Lynn Smith of Union Grove and Jerry Wayne Smith of Mocksville; 2 sisters-in-law, Sylvia Smith of Mocksville and Patsy Smith of Advance; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Swisher officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
