A King’s Mountain man was arrested early Sunday morning for a string of break-ins, including three in Davie County.
Justin Alexander Hosey, 27, was charged by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office with two counts each of felony breaking and entering, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
At 4:41 a.m. Sunday, Iredell deputies responded to a burglary alarm at County Line Grocery, off US 64 West near the Davie County line, reported Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell.
The deputies implemented the department’s response plan, and began checking other area businesses, leading them to Fast Phil’s on Mocksville Highway.
“Deputy C. Wilson … noticed that this business had appeared to have been broken into,” the sheriff said. The suspect was still inside, and he was arrested without incident. His vehicle was parked at a neighboring business. That vehicle had been reported stolen in Florida.
While processing the suspect, the Iredell deputies learned of similar break-ins in Mocksville and the Center community in Davie County. Interviews with the suspect confirmed he had committed those crimes, as well, Campbell said.
Davie Sheriff J.D. Hartman said charges are forthcoming in the Davie cases.
Hosey was also wanted by Cleveland and Burke county officers.
“Our patrol deputies did an excellent job of following their training and insincts, which led to the arrest of this suspect,” Campbell said. “We train on how to respond to breaking and entering calls. This is why we do what we do, obviously this suspect was on a crime spree. Due to exceptional response tactics, and good investigation skills, we were able to stop his criminal activity.”
