Odell Rhynehardt Sr. died on Jan. 28, 2019.

He was born on March 16, 1925  to Isaiah and Lovie Rhynehardt. He was added to Redland Church of Christ in 1941. He retired from Gravely Tractors. He was united in marriage to Gracie Amos in 1945, and shared 70 years of marriage. He became the full-time minister of Glendale Church of Christ in Newton, where he served for more than 30 years. He loved the outdoors, farming, gardening, flowers, and landscaping. He was known throughout the community for making delicious molasses.

He was preceded in death by his wife and an infant daughter.

Survivors: a son, Odell (Gwen) Rhynehardt Jr.; 2 sisters, Gracie Carter and Dorothy Jackson; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 12:30 p.m. at Glendale Church of Christ, 915 Glendale St., Newton. The family will receive friends from noon-12:30  at the church. Brother Andy Moss will officiate and burial will follow in Redland Church of Christ cemetery in Advance. Public viewing is on Friday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home in Mocksville.
