Lynn Dean Keaton

Lynn Dean Keeton, 71, of Farmington, died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 at the SECU Hospice House in Yadkinville.

Mr. Keeton was born in Forsyth County on Jan. 26, 1947 to the late Lewis Mills Keeton and Mary Elsie Osborne Keeton. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Louis Keeton, Glen Keeton (his twin), and John Keaton.

Mr. Keeton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.  He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed helping others. He kept a sense of humor throughout his sickness and his personality created an environment that showed he enjoyed life and being around people. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandsons. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cooleemee.

Surviving: his wife of 48 years, Betty Norman Keeton of the home; daughter, Addie Walsh (Jonathan) of Mocksville; son, Matthew Keeton (Michelle) of Maiden; grandsons, Jackson Walsh, Franklin Walsh and Dean Keeton; brothers, Martin Keeton (Jean) and Cleo Keeton; sisters, Ruby Boger and JoAnn Smith (Mike); and several nieces and nephews.   

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Pastors Shelby Harbour and Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
