James David Robbins

James David Robbins, 68, of Mocksville, died at home surrounded by his loving family Saturday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2018 following a period of declining health.

A native of Davie County, he was born May 7, 1950, the son of the late Carl Preston Robbins and Addie Mae Keaton Robbins. He was the widower of the late Freida Mae Myers Robbins who died in 2012 after more than 43 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Angela Robbins and Lynn Doby.

Mr. Robbins attended Davie County Schools and was a member of the NRA. After 20 plus years working with farm equipment and tractor repairs, he retired and enjoyed more opportunities for fishing. He also liked to play the guitar and he loved classic cars.

Survivors: sons, Preston Tyler Robbins and James Michael Robbins, both of Mocksville, and Glenn Sidden of Concord; 3 daughters, Melissa Carlene Casseday of Charlotte, Tamica Denise Eakins (Ernest) and Amanda Rena Robbins, both of Mocksville; a brother, Johnny Robbins of Mocksville; 3 sisters, Lillie Hayes of Newton, Peggy Ellison and Minnie Barnett, both of Mocksville; plus 17 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service was conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Davie Funeral Chapel with Pastor Chris Cantrell of Hope Baptist Tabernacle officiating.
